Welcome to Two Little Birds for the premiere of Jakob Nybergs exhibition, showing jewllery/art, on Saturday the 28th of August between 1pm and 5pm. The exhibition is on show under opening hours until the 23rd of September.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
“When I make jewellery, I reconstruct shapes, recycle not only the material, but also the ideas and the processes.
I am strongly inspired by architecture, music machines, analog electronic equipment, high end vintage furniture and environments like the harbour, the ocean and factories.
Starting working with my materials on bigger industrial machines, ending up with details by the care of hand, reflecting over what has happened after the long process and trip. It can take weeks, months or more for one piece, to grow up into its complex finished result. It must get its own experience first. …collecting-destruct-reconstruct-analyse-reshape-paint-destruct-reconstruct-details…Through this process vague ideas get more clear and strong.
Mostly I work with multiple pieces at the same time. 10-30 pcs.
During this process, the objects have collected information about me, about what I am experiencing through my daily thoughts, dreams and the subconcious mind, where I connect to the real, strong, pure and powerful.
They are simply storytellers and medium of information and shapes you cannot always find in everyday life. Or this is a way to express yourself and tell about things, which could not be done in words or normal conversations.”
